Best....Picture...Ever...

Robin Soderling reacts after a point during the match

Fuhgehaboutit!!!  Sod lost in 5 to Granollers.  Some may call it an upset, but Granollers was looking really good in Chennai, both in singles and was the doubles champion over Tipsarevic/Lu.  Definitely a stronger opponent than Ginepri, and if Sod can't beat him, an on-the-rise player like Granollers was bound to be a problem.

In other "upset" news, Gasquet just got bounced in 5 by Youzhny.  I don't love the Russian, but Gasquet gives me the creeps.  He is the kind of guy who would get "contaminated" at a night club.  Peace out, Richie Rich!

In good news, all the Serbs are through!!  Can we have a Spain vs. Serbia Davis Cup final???  Please!!

FeVer was victorious over Tsonga, 7-5, 6-3.  He so pretty...even in that shirt:)

Fernando Verdasco of Spain is seen with the trophy after defeating Jo-Wilfried Tsonga of France in the final of the Kooyong Classic tennis tournament, in Melbourne, on January 16. Verdasco won 7-5, 6-3, in the round-robin tournament used by top male players, as a warm-up to the Australian Open.

Go Nando!  I hope he kicks ass this week!

James Blake of the US smiles during a practice session

After losing a bet during their joint practice for the AO, Roddick was allowed to aim his serve at Blake's backside....and I don't mean his backhand.

For a tournament with such a fun and exciting name, the tennis hasn't been that great.  Blame the wind, "injuries" (really, Sod?  tennis elbow?  Is that what you call it when you drop a set to Ljubicic?), but with such a stellar line-up, one would have thought that the matches would at least have been competitive.  I was hoping for an exciting match between Djokovic and Verdasco.  Instead, Nando won 6-1, 6-2!

Fernando Verdasco of Spain plays a backhand in his second round match against Novak Djokovic of Serbia during day two of the 2010 Kooyong Classic in Melbourne, Australia.

Now, Nando played well, don't get me wrong.  But Nole, what happened!!!  Every other shot went long!  I've never seen so many misfires from him.  Hopefully, he's worked the nonsense out now, and will do better next week, but this is not a good sign.  I do hope it's a confidence booster for FeVer.  I think the Australian Open is his best chance for a slam, and I would love to see him do well.  Even the green is growing on me.

I'm looking forward to the final between Tsonga (who advanced when DelPo dropped out with a wrist injury) and Verdasco.  Maybe we'll finally see some competitive tennis??...

All matches were a one-sided affair.  Perhaps most surprising was Verdasco's 7-5, 6-1 win over Gonzalez

It's not surprsing that Verdasco won, but 6-1??  Soderling got his ass handed to him as well.

Novak looked in great form.  Really looking forward to his match against Verdasco tonight...as long as internet video is cooperating!!

Novak Djokovic speaks to the media

I have a few thoughts about this picture of the guys competing at the Kooyong exhibition.

1. Sod is STILL scowling!  Really, he needs to branch out with the facial expressions.  You'd think the fact that neither Rafa nor Ginepri are competing here would be enough for him to crack a smile.

2. Why is Nike dressing DelPo in Rafa's check shorts from last season?  Doesn't a winning grand slam earn you the right not to have to wear sponsor left-overs?

3. Was this seating arrangement planned?  It looks like Gonzo, Haas, and Baldy were segregated off in the AARP section.  WAIT, what IS Ljubicic doing there?  Is that the best they could come up with to replace Evil Empire?

4. Love that FeVer is the only one acting like he's listening to what Nole is saying.

5. Is it me, or does Tsonga look like he's sitting in timeout?  Poor J-T....

James Blake welcomes the MLC Ballkids

I'm sorry, but how cute is that??!!  Really, how can you not love Blake?

In a side note, is that really going to be the outfit for the ball kids in the Australian Open??  Is pepto a sponsor?
